Alerts and Warning Sirens

  • If you receive an Alert Carolina text alert, do what it says. If you are not currently registered to receive text alerts, or if you are a visitor/guest, visit the Alert Carolina phone registration page to learn how to receive alerts.
  • If you hear warning sirens, stop all classroom and campus activities. All UNC operations are temporarily suspended, including classes, business in offices and public transportation.
  • Seek shelter inside until further notice. Shut all doors and stay away from exterior windows.
  • When the danger is over, Alert Carolina and the siren system will signal “All Clear.” See the Alert Carolina website for any additional updates.
